** Newest Announcement! ** We have big changes to tell you about! We have new staff members! A few long time staff members such as Receptionist, Angela and Office Manager, Heidi have recently moved out of state. Angela and her husband moved to Colorado in late February, 2006. Heidi's husband received an offer from his company that they just couldn't pass up and moved to Oregon in late April, 2006. Angela sadly departed the AHOT after 5 years and Heidi had to make the difficult decision to leave her work family after over 10 years. Both are still in touch with the AHOT and miss life here and all of their wonderful clients, patients, and friends. Heidi still remains webmaster of the website and continues to welcome email inquiries, general questions and new photo submissions to add the Brag Book of your wonderful pets!

Dr. Kermit Harvey, Veterinarian & Chief of Staff
Being an animal lover his whole life, Dr. Harvey received his DVM degree from Tuskegee Institute in 1977. He then worked for two years in the New Orleans area. A native of Tampa, Dr. Harvey moved back home in 1979 and started the Animal Hospital of Tampa Inc. He is a very well-known, respected, and dedicated veterinarian in our community, and adored by our staff. Dr. Harvey, (aka "Doc") and family was adopted by a cat named Blue Eyes and a Pekinese/Chihuahua mix named Pingo.
Yoli, Veterinary Technician
Yoli has been with the Animal Hospital of Tampa since 1994 as a Veterinary Technician. Born in Puerto Rico, but raised in Tampa, Yoli is bilingual and is one of our resident translators for our Spanish speaking clients. She assists in surgery, performs dental cleanings, and assists Dr. Harvey with examinations. She is owned by 4 cats named: Chelo, Tiger, and the newest cats named Diabla and Diablo. Yoli and her family also have a white Bulldog named Tank, a Boston Terrier, Nino, a Chihuahua named Baby, 3 birds named Stubby, Lola, Yellow, and also many fish.
Lazaro, Kennel Attendant/Veterinary Assistant
Lazaro joined our staff in October, 2004. He cares for our kennel guests and hospitalized patients. He walks them in our fenced in area, keeps their area clean and sterile, distributes medications, assists Dr. Harvey with examinations, and does bathing. He also speaks Spanish and assists in translations for clients. He occasionally assists Dr. Harvey during patient examinations.
Mercy, Kennel Attendant
She cares for the animals by walking them, cleaning their areas, feeding, bathing, and distributing medications. When needed, she also assists Dr. Harvey during patient examinations. (Additional info coming soon!)
Mary, Receptionist
Mary is our newest addition to the front office staff. She answers the phones, schedules appointments, fills prescriptions, and fulfills many other important tasks which successfully aid in the daily function of our practice. Mary is also bilingual in Spanish.
Smudge, Resident Cat and feline blood donor
Smudge is our hospital pet cat. He adopted the Animal Hospital of Tampa staff in as an 8 week old kitten in 1996. Smudge can be found in our pet supply store and has many admirers. He also donates blood to his fellow felines when in need.
